Eureka was known as the Tobacco Plains and was originally home to the Kootenai Indians. The area offers scenic treasures tucked away in Montana's northwest corner. The city is an excellent location for outdoor pursuits, including Lake Koocanusa and many other smaller lakes known for trout fishing.
