Fortine, Montana
Originally a station on the Great Northern Railway line, Fortine prospered with the development of the timber industry between 1908 and 1928. Today, Fortine draws outdoor enthusiasts visting the Ten Lake Scenic Area of the Kootenai National Forest. High alpine mountains, clear mountain lakes and peaceful meandering trails all combine to make this area a backpacker's dream.
