Lincoln, Montana

Following the famous "River of the the Road to the Buffalo" created by Native Americans centuries before, Meriwether Lewis passed through this area in 1806 on his return to St. Louis. When gold was discovered in the mid-1860s, a large number of miners camped here until the town was eventually created, making it a convenient commercial center. It's also the town where Theodore Kaczynski, better known as the "Unabomber" was arrested in April 1996. Today, the beauty of nearby wilderness areas continue to attract residents and visitors in search of nature's haven.
